Labelling for building materials
The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) covers doors, windows, insulation materials and other building materials in the European Union. In addition, it covers, among various things, all the labeling of these building materials commercialized in this region.
The regulation for construction products is called the “CE regulation”, which means that any manufacturer or importer must comply with the requirements of CE marking.
And as for all the products that are marketed, the labels affixed on the packaging of construction materials (or directly on the product itself) must include information that will allow its traceability throughout the supply chain, namely:
- lot/serial number
- Company name
- Company address
Also, since 2012 in France, a label informing of the emissions of volatile pollution must be affixed to all building materials commercialized in the country.
Why using thermal transfer technology for this application ?
Thermal Transfer technology for Building materials Label
Variable information marking and labeling have to withstand harsh manufacturing conditions such as hot, dusty, and dirty environments, typical environments when working with lumber, concrete, and drywall applications.
Therefore, thermal transfer is the most appropriate technology to deal with all these constraints. Its print’s sharpness, quality, and permanence make it possible to meet all the needs and performance constraints required by this sector.
